The 2009 New Minimum Security Facility for Brazos County is a new facility housing low risk work release inmates. The facility features two 64 bed pods, multiuse room, public toilet, processing room, jailer offices, and two outdoor recreation yards. Designed for TAS Compliance, TCJS, and the 2003 International Building Code.

1950’s Air Force Hangar was renovated to house the Texas Engineering Extension Service Utilities and Public Works Training Institute. Patterson Architects developed a design to fit the users needs. The interior of the hangar has electrical training classrooms and labs located on the west side. The fiber optic side, on the east, has classrooms, labs, break room and bathroom facilities.

The County utilized an existing facility to renovate for their administration needs. Asbestos surveys were done, along with reviews by the City of Bryan and accessibility specialist for code compliance. We met with all the departments that are to be relocated to utilize the space to fit each of their needs. The design allows for natural lighting, accessible spaces, and offices suites for the County Commissioners and their support staff.
