This project involved renovations of the existing facility to lab research space. The facility was originally designed for biological teaching space, our team reviewed the construction, made suggestions on the design, developed drawings. Included in the laboratory space are Bio safety II Cabinets, dark rooms, cold rooms, new suspended ceiling, lighting, plumbing and upgrades to the HVAC. We evaluated the restrooms and egress in the building to be ADA compliant for the change in use. During the design there were issues with vibrations in the facility. We evaluated the mechanical systems and corrected issues causing the vibration throughout the facility. Each of the projects had a different delivery methods. Our team worked with a contractor, Design/Builder and Facilities Services Shops.
